Brompton Cemetery Chapel
Exhibition

September 2019

London’s iconic buildings and streets give a false sense of the permanence of the city. The three mixed media works on canvas play with the reality of their impermanence as the materials they are made of tear apart and leak a blood-like essence into the world.

The glass bowl on a circular table filled with pure water and centred below the dome of the chapel reflects literally the dome’s shape, the perfect, eternal circle, and figuratively our sense of our own and our build environment’s permanence and perfectibility. It challenges these by referencing the fossil record and what we will contribute to this; rust iron and plastic.
